Styling

Can you guys believe I was once a little ballerina? I took classes until I was 13! Since then I developed an aversion to tights….until my move to London, that is. Hahaha! Lately, stocking/tights have been my quick fix on days when I miss going barelegged. I was browsing through the Multiply marketplace a few nights ago, I came across Leg Love by City Lady on Multiply. Knowing my sister, Amina, will be visiting me soon, I decided to go ahead and place an order on these 2 pairs. I love being able to shop Manila brands even if I’m miles away!!! Inspired by them, I decided to come up with ‘dream’ outfits that I’d wear them with!

Doing the 15/30 challenge was NOT an easy feat. Not only did we jump from one hotel to another, I had to do my own laundry. Trust me, I have learned to fully convert any hotel bathroom into a laundromat. No way was I going to pay €3 for ONE dress to be washed! Hahaha!

As a solution to that, I had to layer. A LOT.

This Topman sweater was a life saver. Here are ways to wear a ratty old sweatshirt without looking you just stepped out of the gym!

Transforming a dress into a skirt!

Using it to layer on really cold days!

I still have no idea how I survived living on 30 clothes for a month!

Joey Samson x Human dress, Aldo heels, floppy hat from Bangkok, D&G sunglasses

This post is a couple weeks late! I completely forgot to publish it! Anyway, a few days before my trip, I dropped by Human, a brand which I honestly rarely visit and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had really cute pieces on the rack. What caught my eye the most was the Joey Samson x Human collaboration.

I couldn’t resist wearing this tennis-esque dress to a shoot I styled because it was easy and comfortable enough for the humid Manila weather. Paired it with my heels from ALDO and I was good to go! Yes, they look like killer heels but it wasn’t much of a problem because ALDO and my feet get along very well .

While I’m in Europe for a month, I decided to set up a little side project — “15/30″: travel + style blog : http://jetset.littlemissdressup.com As a supplement to LMDU, I wanted document my current trip to the United Kingdom, Spain, France and Amsterdam this June to July. Wanting to keep things interesting, I decided to impose on myself a little challenge —- living out of a suitcase for a month with only 30 articles of clothing (minus shoes, bathing suit, pajamas, and accessories).

“15/30″ is also a one month long competition for YOU. It is some sort of scavenger hunt where in YOU would have to be able to answer a set of 15 trivia questions — each based on the current city I will be in throughout my trip. More details for the giveaway here.

I’ve been a fan of Teen Vogue since the first issue (was it the one with Gwen Stefani on the cover?) and even if i’m far from being a teen, I still consider it as one of my favorite magazines. So given the peg, Teen Vogue’s Karlie Kloss’ May 2010 editorial — which was a bit athletic inspired, I was looking forward to styling this shoot with Sam Sadhwani, shot by Roy Macam for Young Star Philippines.
